Right Hygiene Event Attracts 180 Attendees

Conference was held in New Delhi in December

    02.27.18
The  Fourth Edition of  ‘Right Hygiene,’ an event organized by Business Coordination House (BCH) was one of the biggest and  most successful event ever held for the Indian disposable hygiene industry, receiving high praise from industry stalwarts from India and overseas. Attracting 180 delegates from 19 countries including 45 converting companies (manufacturers of disposable hygiene end use products) and many raw material and machinery companies, the three-day event was held in New Delhi from December 6-8, 2017.

The Indian  disposable hygiene  industry, growing at a CAGR of  20%, has in the last two years, seen a large number of domestic manufacturers (convertors of sanitary napkins, baby and adult diapers, underpads and wipes) enter this market. This event focused on guiding the industry through the ‘right’ know-how and the ‘right’ manufacturing practices.

The objective of the event was to bring together global industry experts and stakeholders of the Indian  disposable hygiene industry under one roof for face-to-face interactions, targeted networking and deliberations on  key issues that the industry faces in today's business climate. The event was designed to throw light on the latest innovations in products, processes, raw materials and machinery.
The first presentation on “The Indian Market for Disposable Hygiene Products: Current Status and Trends,” by Ritika Gupta, executive director, BCH and Editor, TechTex India (BCH Newsline) set a high and optimistic tone for the theme of the event. With an expert panel of speakers from all fragments of the industry, the first two days witnessed presentations covering a myriad of relevant areas and solutions offered  in raw materials and machinery with a special session dedicated to the wipes segment.

The speaker companies namely BCH, Bostik, Curt G. Joa, Fameccanica, Fibertex  Personal Care, Glatfelter, H.B. Fuller, Lenzing, Loparex, Nordson, Optima, Osprey, Res Pharma,  Sandvik, SB Packaging, Teknoweb Converting and Tredegar along with a few others were also exhibiting their latest product offerings in a tabletop exhibition held in conjunction with the conference.

An interesting highlight of the event was the second edition of the ‘BCH Awards Ceremony’ wherein BCH on behalf of the industry acknowledged the efforts of the top performing convertors of the Indian industry. Distinguished companies were  awarded for their significant contribution and excellence in performance by a special jury consisting of industry veterans. Before the close of the conference, an interactive panel discussion was held wherein key issues and problems of the industry were brought forward and discussed amongst the gathering. On the third day, a training workshop was also conducted especially for manufacturers to discuss and train on different issues related to project planning, production optimization, logistics and marketing.

“The event was world-class: information provided in advance was sent with enough notice and expectations were clear. It was a great balance of conference and networking,” says Paula Inda, Corporate Director, Curt G. Joa.

Tilkesh Jathan,  senior manager, Loparex India enthusiastically praised the event calling it ‘the best investment made ever since demonetisation’ and highlighted the need for making this event an annual feature as  was  also echoed in the feedback survey  received  after the event. The feedbacks summarized that the biggest takeaway from the event was; ‘the ‘right’ balance of quality information and chances to interact with the ‘right’ people.’

With ample time for discussions and interactions through breaks and informal networking during the two cocktail evenings, the event concluded on a positive and hopeful note towards the bright future of the Indian disposable hygiene industry with new partnerships made, friendships fostered and a positive feeling towards new and existing investments in the industry.

“We are pleased to have received such a positive feedback. We took a calculated risk by making the conference a three-day affair as opposed to the original one-day format, and I can proudly say - it was a great success!  We at BCH are certain that the Indian Disposable Hygiene industry has finally arrived and the technological improvements will foster the growth of this market in the coming future," says Samir Gupta, managing director, BCH.
