Ginni Filaments Ltd., a fully integrated Indian textile company, has begun producing spunlaced nonwovens on a new line supplied by Rieter Perfojet at its Panoli (Ankleshwar), Gujarat, Italy. The new line, which was announced two years ago, represents an investment of Rs.130 Crores and has an annual capacity of 12,000 meters.
Ginni Filaments has also established coating, laminating, printing and embossing capabilities as well as a converting unit at the site to manufacture various varieties of dry and wet wipes and other fabrics for various end use applications. The integrated nonwovens plant is reportedly the first of its kind established in India.
The new line was officially inaugurated on March 17 at Panoli by Shri Anil Bhai Patel, honorable minister of State, Industries & Mines, Government of Gujarat while Shri Surendra M. Patel, M.P. and Shri Peter Gnaegi, CEO of Rieter, Switzerland were the guests of honor on the occasion.
Rajaram Jaipuria, Ginni's chairman and managing director and Shishir Jaipuria, managing director of the company have announced further plans to invest Rs.250 Crores in Gujarat for which the company has entered into a MOU with the government. Ginni has already established a spinning unit in Panoli, which was commissioned in November 2006.
