IDEA 2025 Returns to Miami Beach

An early look at what exhibitors are planning for this year’s exhibition

    03.06.25
IDEA 2025 will be held April 28-May 1, 2025, at the Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami Beach, FL. The event, which is held every three years and sponsored by INDA, Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry, will attract several thousand visitors to visit hundreds of exhibitors representing the entire nonwovens value chain. The show will be the year’s best opportunity to meet with a large number of existing suppliers and customers but also to establish new relationships.

Here is a look at what some exhibitors plan to present at IDEA.

    Chase Machine and Engineering, Inc.

Since 1954, Chase Machine and Engineering has been designing and building custom converting equipment for films, foils and woven-nonwoven fabrics for the textile/nonwovens, filtration, medical and packaging industries. The company utilizes three-dimensional modeling to design equipment such as unwinds/rewinds, slitters, embossers and laminators, festooners, blockers and spoolers/traverse winders. Chase Specializes in the integration of technologies such as ultrasonics, glue dispensing, CO2 lasers, band sealing and impulse welding.

At IDEA 2025, Chase will showcase its festooning technology along with ultrasonic sewing equipment. Festooning is the process of precisely folding woven and nonwoven materials into a box or container without tension, twists or tangles. It is superior to winding when handling stretchy or fragile materials or when access to the end of the web is required for splicing. Our ultrasonic sewing equipment is a wonderful tool for joining synthetic materials without the need for consumables (needle, thread, tapes and adhesives). The technology may also be incorporated into continuous equipment such as slitters, laminators, embossers and splicers.

    Flexatec

Flexatec will showcase its KFG Conveyor Belts, which offer an innovative solution for the hygiene industry. For diaper and feminine care product production, the rolls offer superior adhesive repellency, able to repels adhesive three times more than silicone, ensuring cleaner operations with no contamination. Other features include truly endless construction manufactured in one single piece, eliminating splice failures and no cover layers thanks to a multi-layer construction that prevents delamination. Additionally the rolls are optimized for high speed production because they are designed to improve efficiency and reduce downtime in diaper and feminine care manufacturing.

    Lexsz Group

Lexsz Group is exhibiting polyester staple fibers and PET flakes. Polyester Staple Fibre (PSF) is a type of polyester fiber made from recycled polyester waste and PET bottle scraps. It finds use in a variety of applications including cushion filling, filtration and the manufacturing of nonwoven fabrics. PSF is a washable fibre and has good chemical resistance, high resilience, and quick-drying properties.

The group mainly supplies hollow conjugated siliconized fiber (HCS), hollow conjugated fiber (HC). polyester staple fiber is widely used in spinning and weaving nonwovens and it is mainly used for fiber fillings in pillows, sofa, dolls, quilts, down jackets etc.

PET flakes are made from PET plastic bottles (post-consumption) recycling. Packaging foods and beverages and personal care products can be used as an alternative raw material for making PET flakes. PET flakes are widely used in the manufacturing of products used in our day-to-day life. It is used in as packing material of PET sheet and used as PET straps on trucks and ships. Meanwhile, PET flakes are transformed into staple fibers and yarn after producers. They are widely used in furniture and other appliances as well. Lexsz has three colors—blue and white, green and brown.

    Shemesh Automation Wet Wipes

Shemesh Automation Wet Wipes will present some of its state-of-the-art packaging solutions, with the latest technologies including:

BundIT, an innovative stacker bundler machine for wipes and more, that is a complete solution for fully automatic wrapping of stacks (packs) of baby wipes packages (or other packages). It offers fully automated feeding, stacking and bundling, in a speed of up to 150ppm. The bundles could be 2,3,4 or 5. Due to four (4) alternate Herma made label applicators, two on each side, the state-of-the-art machine allows continuous work without stopping during a shift of roll.

BuckIt-TKS25© line is a complete turnkey packaging line for wet wipes in pails. It offers fully automated feeding for both pails and pails lids with separate continuous denesting machines which include a servo-driven interchangeable vertical carousel cartridges for continuous denesting. This results in ultra-low downtime.

Two unique designs features in particular make the BuckIt-TKS25 line stand out—a fully integrated SAS-J Jumbo Wipes stuffer machine and the Carolus Pail Labeller—includes a proprietary precision orientation system and pails handle lifting mechanism for conical and plain-vanilla pails.

This highly accurate, sustainable low-maintenance line can pack up to 25 jumbo wipes per minute where these are auto stuffed, wet sealed and closed inside automatically-denested pails.

The Citadel Series, operating speeds of up to 25ppm, is a robust, fully automatic, servo driven all-in-one Monoblock packer, tailor made to service the jumbo wet wipes in flexible packs (Citadel J) and refill markets (Citadel R). Citadel offers ultra-low downtime and enhanced productivity.

The all-new Citadel A can fulfil both jumbo bags (Citadel J) and consumer refill bags (Citadel R) in one packaging solution, unlocking major savings for flexible pack wipes manufacturers.

    Tentoma Packaging Solutions

Tentoma Packaging Solutions is a trusted specialist in roll packaging within the nonwovens industry. Tentoma has developed the innovative RoRo StretchPack technology, enabling waterproof packaging of nonwoven rolls in a single operation. This technology allows for the automation of packaging lines for nonwoven rolls up to 60 feet (19 meters) wide.

The RoRo StretchPack packaging technology is highly suitable for nonwoven rolls. The rolls are packed horizontally into a tubular stretch hood film, ensuring that the final packaging has only strong, short welds at each end. This eliminates the need for a long weld on the roll side, which can be prone to breaking. The result is 100% waterproof roll packaging that protects the roll material against moisture and dirt during transportation and storage. This is an essential advantage for the hygiene nonwoven industry. The geotextile industry also benefits from RoRo StretchPack, as it automates the entire process of packaging large and heavy nonwoven rolls. This solution not only enhances packaging quality but also offers a fully automated packaging line with high repeatability. It ensures high packaging capacity and uptime, making it ideal for integration into efficient production lines—either inline or as a stand-alone solution. Additionally, an automated core plug insertion at the ends is an option.

By utilizing tubular stretch hood film, RoRo StretchPack ensures tight packaging by stretching the film around the roll. This process minimizes excess material usage and significantly reduces film consumption. Customer cases have demonstrated film reductions of up to 60% compared to conventional packaging methods. This is achieved through the tight single-layer packaging, in contrast to heat shrink packaging, which requires excess film that is later heated to shrink. By eliminating heat shrink from the packaging line, producers can achieve substantial energy savings.
