After completing his master’s degree in International Business from Leeds University, U.K., Mayank Beria joined his father’s textile processing business with a vision to address a significant gap in the Indian market. Recognizing the need for affordable, high-quality hygiene products—particularly in baby care and feminine hygiene—he set out to innovate. Combining his expertise in textiles with a keen understanding of local consumer needs, Beria led the company to develop a range of products that prioritize quality, comfort and accessibility that cater to the Indian market’s specific needs.Millennium Babycares was founded in 2016 and operates a facility in Indore, India. The company began with two converting machines and has since expanded to four high-speed baby diaper machines, one adult diaper production line and one sanitary napkin converting line. Currently, it has a production capacity of 55 million diapers per month.
The company will soon expand to 10 baby pant diaper lines, four of which will include high-speed Japanese lines. The company also plans to introduce baby open tape diaper lines, adult pant diaper lines and an additional adult tape diaper line within the next 12 months to become a one-stop solution for disposable hygiene products. “These advanced machines will allow us to launch a whole new range of products in the domestic and international diaper markets,” Beria says.

The company’s products are currently available in 15 states across India, with a strong presence in both urban and rural markets. Additionally, its online sales have allowed Millennium Babycares to reach a wider audience, while its offline distribution is steadily expanding. The company also has a small but growing export footprint in markets like Africa and the Middle East. “Looking ahead, we plan to further increase our distribution network across India and enhance our export capabilities, focusing on key regions with high demand for hygiene products,” Beria explains.
In October, the company announced it had completed a private placement round of Rs 122 crore from Bharat Value Fund (BVF), which is managed by Pantomath Capital Management Pvt Ltd, offering a significant minority stake. BVF is the second Category II Alternative Investment Fund launched by the India Inflection Opportunity Trust in August 2024 and is managed by Madhu Lunawat. It has a targeted corpus of Rs 2,000 crores. Millennium will use the proceeds for market expansion in India and internationally.
According to Beria, the absorbent hygiene market in India is rapidly growing, driven by increased awareness of personal hygiene, rising disposable incomes and urbanization. “In the baby care segment, there is growing demand for premium-quality diapers that offer superior comfort and absorbency,” he says. “In adult care, the aging population and increased awareness of hygiene needs are driving the market for adult diapers. Feminine care is also seeing growth, with more women seeking reliable and comfortable sanitary napkins. Our focus is to meet these needs by providing innovative, cost-effective solutions across all segments.”
Looking forward, Millennium Babycares aims to expand its product portfolio, focusing on sustainability and advanced technology. It is exploring eco-friendly materials and solutions to minimize its environmental impact while ensuring product efficacy. Additionally, with its increased production capacity, expected to triple in the first quarter of 2025, Millennium Babycares plans to strengthen its export business and explore new international markets. “As we continue to grow, our primary focus will remain on delivering high-quality products that improve the lives of our consumers,” Beria concludes.
