A renowned name in the Indian plastic packaging sector, Manjushree has four decades of experience serving global consumer giants in the food, beverage, pharma, health and hygiene sectors.
“With the entire length and breadth of plastic processing technologies, Manjushree has been a long-term reliable partner to global companies like P&G, Reckitt Benckiser, Nestle, Coca Cola, Unilever, Heinz, Pfizer and many others,” says Rajat Kedia, managing director of Manjushree Spntek.
With the intent to serve the health and wellness sector, Manjushree Spntek was envisioned. Manjushree Spntek, which began production two months ago, produces high performance nonwoven solutions for its customers to make them successful in the market. Its infrastructure complements its purpose, and the company aims to become the first choice of its customers for quality nonwovens.
“The group has a firm belief that health and wellness are the new sunrise sectors and hence wanted to pursue a business expansion in this area,” says Kedia. “On the other hand, our extensive know-how in polymer processing and decades of collaboration with technology leaders like Reifenhäuser-Reicofil, led us to believe in the evolving spunmelt nonwoven technology. The rest of it just seemed to come naturally to us. The vision of the future combined with deep expertise and experience led to the formation of Manjushree Spntek.”
The company conducted a detailed market study and global mapping, which identified medical disposables and hygiene as core areas to grow with huge potential for innovation, according to Kedia. Accordingly, the company invested in the world’s first smart Reicofil spunmelt technology. “We have designed our technology smartly to keep our customers in the lead,” he says. “It is massively flexible to produce the entire range of products that we intend to supply.”
In addition to the spunmelt technology, Manjushree Spntek invested in an A.Celli finishing line to cater to high end fabric treatments and finishes, both online and offline.
According to the company, the advantage of being a greenfield project is that it has prioritized sustainability from a grassroot level. Its building design is optimized for natural lighting and fresh air with complete contamination control. Additionally, its power is almost 100% from renewable sources and ESG (environmental, social and corporate governance) is one of its core pillars.
“Although we are a new entrant in the nonwovens space, our team has a combined experience of more than 100 years and the experience of having worked with global leaders in a variety of nonwoven technologies,” explains Sameer Chitnis, COO of Manjushree Spntek. “Our plant is designed on Industry 4.0 standards, clean operating environment and lean manufacturing principles with contactless and automated packaging and warehousing—all of which, we have brought into our greenfield set-up of spunmelt nonwovens.”
The company’s state-of-the-art manufacturing unit will initially deliver high performance nonwoven solutions for ICA (infection control apparel), medical disposables and hygiene products. However, the company also intends to serve specialty industrial segments in the future.
“It has only been two months since we began commercial production, but have already received high acclaim for our product and performance from India,” Kedia says.
The company is also in active discussions with large customers from the Americas, European Union, the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
“We are committed to provide the highest level of safety and comfort with our products and the entire organization is tuned to it,” Kedia says. “We are driven by innovation, high performance and customer delight. Thus, we have invested in the best technology for fabric production and finishing treatments and expect our customers to recognize this drive in us.”
