Graziano Ramina Industries Srl (GR Industries) was born in 2020 thanks to the 30-year experience of Ramina Srl, a leading manufacturer of industrial machinery and turnkey plants for the nonwovens industry. GR Industries is specialized in the production and trading of nonwoven fabrics for the healthcare industry and has a strategic role in the Ramina Group.
Headquartered near Venice, GR Industries’ production of 400 tons of meltblown per month was made possible following the installation of three lines of Ramina’s Leonardo 1.0 technology.
The company’s initial mission was to support the Italian civil protection to fight the Covid-19 pandemic through the start-up of the Ramina Leonardo 1.0 SMS line in a continuous 24-hour cycle. “We immediately realized the huge demand and the big lack of meltblown in Europe and we thought this opportunity could become a new potential business, giving also the chance to demonstrate globally the efficiency and high performance of the Ramina Leonardo 1.0 technology,” says Elena Ramina, sales manager of GR Industries.
A young but already highly qualified company, which in 2020 demonstrated its production capacity to the international market, GR Industries has established itself as a credible and reliable player, which makes quality, innovation, attention to detail and environmental sustainability its strengths.
Graziano Ramina Industries, which takes its name from its founder, offers its customers tailor-made solutions in the medical, hygienic-sanitary and industrial fields.
The meltblown is designed and tested in the laboratories of GR Industries, which continuously invests in research and development to guarantee a safe, non-toxic, and comfortable product, designed for the best possible experience. With BFE (Bacterial Filtration Efficiency) ≥ 99%, the GR Industries meltblown is ideal to produce type II and IIR disposable masks, with high quality standards 100% Made in Italy and European certification. The company can also provide certified meltblown for FFP2 and FFP3 masks.
According to Ramina, the Covid-19 pandemic has changed lifestyles around the globe. “We have learned to be responsible and respectful of human health and we cannot imagine in the coming years to enter in a public place without wearing a mask,” she says. “So we think the demand of meltblown will remain high in the long-term.”
The company also realized the importance of establishing a production site in Europe. Before Covid-19, meltblown was mainly imported from China. “During the emergency, exports and imports were almost completely blocked and, for this reason, there was a lack of facemasks. We all remember when we could not find surgical masks anywhere. We cannot allow this to happen again,” she says.
Behind the production of meltblown from GR Industries is a history of excellence and tradition, style and creativity and the desire to develop ideas capable of lasting over time and adapting to the evolution of the business. And after only one year of activity, GR Industries looks to the future.
On the one hand by increasing the production of meltblown to meet the needs of the medical industry, and on the other, starting with the production of spunbond to broaden the horizons of the market by supporting its needs. GR Industries is supplying up to 470 tons of spunbond per month. Currently the full capacity is for medical applications, but this fabric can also be used in hygiene, furniture and other sectors.
“Our main advantages are the quick delivery time thanks to the high capacity throughput of our lines and the complete direct supply chain as being part of the Ramina Group,” says Dalila Golin, sales manager, GR Industries. “In fact, the production lines of GR Industries are in-house manufactured and maintained. Also our material is of the highest quality. Our main goal is to provide our customers and therefore the public with protective and safe masks. We constantly test our material to ensure 99% BFE and high breathability. Research and development is also the key: we never stop studying and learning about new products.”
