A method for manufacturing a disposable absorbent article including a printed graphic, the method comprising: printing an article component with ink free of carbon black, wherein the printed graphic has a CIELab L* less than 80 and a CIELab C* greater than 1.5; joining the article component to a second article at a junction to form the article, wherein the printing coincides with the junction; and passing the article through an infrared inspection station to inspect the junction without interference from the printing.
