Suominen, a globally leading supplier of nonwovens, has strengthening its global R&D team by appointing three new product development engineers. The appointments essentially support Suominen’s strategy, which focuses on growth and product leadership. Successful execution of the strategy will fulfill Suominen’s vision to be a market driven product leader.
Johanna Siren, M.Sc. in Fiber and Textile Technology, was appointed product development engineer, effective August 10, 2015. She recently graduated from Tampere University of Technology, majoring in Fibre Technology and minoring in Tissue Engineering. Siren will be located in Nakkila, Finland.
Avinav Nandgaonkar, Ph.D., Fiber and Polymer Science, was appointed product development engineer on August 19, 2015. He recently graduated from North Carolina State University, with a strong background in textiles, polymer, nanofibers, material science, chemistry, and fiber science. He has a master of science in Textile Engineering from the same university, adding up to five plus years of research experience in functional nano-composite preparation for oil/water filtration, tissue engineering, thin conductive film, and dye degradation applications. Previously he worked at PreScouter Inc. as well as a postdoctoral research scholar at NCSU. He received his bachelor of technology degree in Textile Engineering at Veermata Jijbai Technological Institute, Mumbai, India. Nandgaonkar will be located in Windsor Locks, CT.
Nasim Farahbakhsh, Ph.D., Fiber and Polymer Science, will be appointed product development engineer on September 15, 2015. She recently graduated as a Ph.D. from North Carolina State University, where she currently works as a graduate research assistant. She received her master of science degree in Textile Chemistry & Fiber Science from Amir Kabir University of Technology, and her bachelor of science in Textile Chemistry & Fiber Science from Isfahan University of Technology. She has worked for five years as an industrial engineering consultant at Mashad Group. Farahbakhsh will also be located in Windsor Locks, CT.
