Pantex International has announced the first step in its geographical expansion into the U.S., a manufacturing site in Simpsonville, SC. The plant, which should be fully operational by the end of the third quarter, will support customers of Italy-based Pantex in the Pan-American region.
The first phase of the expansion will be the installation of assets capable of making approximately 150 million square meters of Pantex's successful and proprietary Cloth-like topsheet product family, and the company plans to increase the site's total output of specialty materials to 500 million square meters in the near term. These moves will allow Pantex to offer its clients a wider product portfolio, including low-cost custom stretch laminates for adult and baby diaper closure systems while strengthening its global leadership expansion in hygiene specialty materials. Pantex currently has production sites in Europe and the Middle East.
Announcing the new plant Gianluigi Fornoni, Pantex CEO, says: “ The U.S. investment has two purposes—to expand the capacity of successful Innovative products such as Cloth-like topsheets and increase the speed at which we bring new innovations to our customers in the American hygiene market. Pantex's U.S. expansion reaffirms our commitment to customers in markets where quality, custom solutions and innovation are the main ingredients for success."
