The Hartmann Group, a maker of products for adult incontinence and medical applications, has established a production site in Russia to capitalize on growth in this region. In late October, the new production and logistics building was officially opened near the city of Domodedovo south of Moscow. “This investment project is one of the components of our sustained strategy for more profitable growth in the Hartmann Group,“ says CEO Andreas Joehle. The new site, which has about 100 employess, represents a multimillion investment for the company.
The new production site allows Hartmann to make adult incontinence products close to the market for Russian customers, eliminating transportation costs. The associated logistics has also been centralized at the new location and includes about 19,000 pallet places. Hartmann has been making underpads and incontinence pads at the site since the third quarter of 2013 at the Domodedovo site and approximately 100 employees are working at the site.
The company would like to increasingly use its presence in Russia, where it operated a sales organization for 16 years before opening a production site, to contribute to a higher quality of care for patients in the Russian health system.
