AccuWeb has introduced a web width monitor system that makes measurements for both acquisition and process control. Web width variations of up to 36 inches can be accommodated without moving the edge detector. The system uses patented WideArray edge detectors and a Micro 4000 NET controller equipped with special software to make accurate web width and position measurements simultaneously. The controller can also be programmed to trigger alarms when the web width is out of tolerance or drifts laterally beyond set points. A three-button remote station provides a convenient operator interface that can be mounted virtually anywhere. A unique job recipe function allows the operator to store and recall tolerance and calibration settings for up to 25 products and processes.
