News concerning the Coronavirus COVID-19 is changing rapidly. As major events are cancelled, schools closed and travel restrictions put in place across the globe, the use of some nonwoven-based products like face masks and disinfectant wipes are surging. Many of these products, in fact, are in short supply. Earlier this week, we conducted an anonymous survey of our readership to see how the spread of COVID-19, which was declared a global pandemic on March 11, is affecting their operations.

Nonwovens Industry’s readers represent all points in the supply chain, but representatives of roll good manufacturers represented the largest segment of responders (37%), followed by end users (25%). Thirty percent of respondents listed their job function as corporate management while 32% were in sales and marketing. The companies represented all types of nonwoven products including institutional wipes, personal care wipes, hygiene products, medical nonwovens and air filters as well as all types of nonwovens processes.
