Organizers say event was held at the right place, at the right time for the nonwovens industry
RKW's Patricia Featherstone, outgoing chair of EDANA's board of director gives remarks at the start of the two-day symposium. At the end of the month, Featherstone will be succeeded by a new chairman, Martin Rapp of Glatfelter.
Pawel Widel, of General Motors Poland, offered insight on the Polish economy, particularly the impact of the growing automotives market in the country. GDP growth, Widel says, it outpacing greater European growth.
The symposium attracted 185 participants from 123 companies and 23 countries. Wolfgang Plasser from Lenzing Austria says that he believed the INS to be “a worthwhile event, in the right place at the right time, with a strong presence of companies from Central and Eastern Europe, excellent technical content and attendance by 100% industry experts.”
EDANA hosted a cocktail party at the Belvedere Restaurant located in New Orangery of the Royal Lazienki Park.
A highlight of day two of the conference was a presentation from Euromonitor's Eka Barcys. Barcys discussed the disposable hygiene market in Eastern Europe.
The symposium also featured tabletop displays during the lunch and coffee breaks. This provided more opportunities for networking.
