At IDEA, AGC Chemicals Americas, Inc. (AGCCA) will introduce FibraLAST, the industry’s first non-fluorinated coating technology designed to provide superior oil and water repellency and isopropyl alcohol resistance for woven and nonwoven industrial fabrics and technical textiles. FibraLAST coatings are high-performance, sustainable alternatives to fluorinated repellent technologies.
When the thin FibraLAST polymeric coating is applied to textiles, it forms a microscopically rough texture that acts as a chemical barrier. Treated textiles resist oil, water and other fluids, causing them to bead up for easy cleaning.
FibraLAST non-fluorinated coatings are ideal for industrial fabrics, upholstery, filters and textiles used in automotive, medical, awnings and marine applications.
This advanced alternative to fluorinated repellent technologies can be applied via dipping or industrial spray-coating.
