Fiberpartner, a leading global supplier of high-performance synthetic fibers, has won the Design Award at the INDEX 23 exhibition in Geneva for their BicoBio fiber in the category of "Innovation in a Raw Material of Special Relevance to the Nonwovens Industry."
The BicoBio fiber has been developed in collaboration with FENC, Far Eastern Company in Taiwan, and represents a breakthrough in the nonwovens industry, offering a solution that is both innovative and forward-thinking. BicoBio is a future-proof bicomponent fiber with a core-sheath construction made from materials with a low carbon footprint. The innovative fiber is enhanced with PrimaLoft Bio, an additive technology, that is designed to biodegrade in environments where most plastics find themselves: landfills, waster waters and oceans. And the bio-based PE used to produce BicoBio is derived from sugar cane and has a negative carbon footprint, further enhancing the fiber's eco-friendliness.
"We are thrilled to receive the Design Award at INDEX 23 for our BicoBio fiber," Thomas Wittrup, CEO of Fiberpartner states. "This award is a testament of our commitment to sustainability and innovation in the nonwovens industry. The BicoBio fiber represents a major step forward in our industry, and we are proud to have developed a solution that is both high performing and better for the environment.”
