Aurizon Ultrasonics, a leader in providing high-power ultrasonic systems for a variety of nonwoven processing applications, and Dukane, a leader in plastic welding technologies, held a press conference on Wednesday at IDEA discussing a new collaboration.
The companies' new relationship will create significant synergies and opportunities for Aurizon and Dukane, allowing them to share their technical expertise in the hygiene, personal care, medical disposable and packaging industries. For the hygiene market, Aurizon's product line will expand with Dukane's fixed (blade) Sonotrode technology for customers who don't require continuous rotary bonding. Dukane's product portfolio includes ultrasonic, vibration welder, spin welders and will now be complemented by Aurizon's rotary ultrasonic technology. This addition to the product portfolio will be supported through Dukane's worldwide sales and service network in conjunction with the team at Aurizon. Current and future customers of Aurizon's rotary and now blade horn product offerings will also benefit from this expanded global footprint.
Greg Benrud, president of Aurizon, discussed Aurizon's ultrasonic elastic entrapment technology. This technology provides a robust, high-speed solution for creating elasticized laminates that have zero creep and eliminated the need for costly and messy adhesives. Personal care and hygiene products often use elastic strands secured in nonwoven materials to prevent leakage and improve fit. Ultrasonic technology creates a better elasticized fabric that is not affected by body temperatures, makes the product breathable, provides design flexibility and many other benefits.
