After years of development, Verdex Technologies, an innovator in nanofiber production, is introducing a very different breakthrough technology, The Verdex Process that greatly expands opportunities for nanofibers, and can be tailored to a customer’s specific needs.
This patented technology is a simple, safe process for spinning nanofibers using no solvents, and using low pressure air, providing nonwovens manufacturers the capability to offer a wide variety of functional enhancements to their products with nanofiber. Another unique capability is the ability to control nanofiber distribution size from 0.5 to 4 microns per filament in the same web. Nanofibers can be composed of multiple polymers such as: PCL, PLA, PP, PET, PBT, Nylon 66, and possible others if melt viscosity is low. The Verdex Process delivers nanofibers in a single process which can incorporate functional particles such as super absorbent powder, activated carbon, zeolites, ferox and iron oxide.
The Verdex Spin Nozzle Design is configurable to meet customer demands for beam designs, positional axisymmetric designs, designs that incorporate functionalizing particles into the fiber matrix, and scale-up throughputs.
Prototype products have been made for high efficiency air filtration, liquid cartridge filtration, thin and flexible absorbent cores for hygiene articles, thermal and acoustical barriers. The technology can spin recycled post-consumer PET carpet (and bottles) into nanofibers aimed at filtration and acoustical applications.
This unique and broad-spectrum technology is protected by multiple patents issued to Verdex Technologies.
