Mahlo
Booth 2005
Mahlo, a manufacturer of online measurement and control technologies for basis weight, thickness, moisture, and air permeability, will be exhibiting the following innovative measurement solutions at IDEA 2016:
The IMF Infrared Sensor for simultaneous measurement of both basis weight and moisture in light weight PP, PE and PET nonwovens (8-80 gsm). This single sided, non-nuclear sensor offers the nonwoven manufacturer an industrially rugged, accurate, and low cost measurement solution. The IMF is integrated into the Mahlo Uniscan single sided scanner that is compact in size allowing for easy integration into existing or new manufacturing lines.
The DML Laser Thickness Sensor employs optical triangulation to determine web thickness to a measurement repeatability of 0.001 inch. The sensor uses advanced “peak picking” filters to effectively measure the surface of the nonwoven web, thereby allowing for excellent correlation with the traditional physical lab testing method.
The DFI Beta Transmission Sensor uses a revolutionary new sensing technique that allows for complete insensitivity to web flutter throughout the entire measurement gap. This eliminates measurement error due to web path changes caused by line tension changes, sag, or edge curl. In addition, the new patented measurement principle allows for the highest measurement accuracy using ultra low activity beta sources and a standard 30mm measurement gap, the widest in the industry.
