Softbond Nonwovens, a leading Argentinian producer of nonwovens has added new line dedicated to the production of spunlaid nonwovens for hygienic and medical applications. The new line includes a complete A.Celli winding, rewinding and packaging solution tailored for spunlaid nonwovens. This will include the E-Wind Stream Plus winder, E-Wind Super Rapid slitter rewinder equipped with automatic shaft handling system and an R-Way automatic packaging line featuring reel transfer, sorting up-ending and wrapping systems for the new spunlaid production line at Softbond’s facility in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The new line is scheduled to be operational by the fourth quarter of 2025.
The collaboration between Softbond and A.Celli dates back to 1996.
Softbond announced it would add a new line, a 3.2 meter spunmelt line, in January. At the time, the company said it would add 9000 tons of operational capacity to its output each year, primarily targeting the hygiene and medical nonwovens markets in Argentina and South America. It will offer softer nonwovens for these application areas using the latest available technology and automatization processes, according to the company.
