5K Launches Process for Developing PVOH Nonwoven

5K fibres, located in Neenah, WI, has developed a unique process for producing PVOH nonwovens. The new product, referred to as Spirit dissolves completely in water without any visible fiber material and certainly is flushable. Spirit has application in packaging, sanitary/hygiene products, filtration, medical, and as a binder fiber in custom constructions. PVOH nonwovens are biocompatible, non-toxic and compliant for food contact per FDA regulations.

Spirit™ is available as a meltblown, point bonded or area bonded nonwoven in weights from 20 to 100 gsm.
