Turkuvaz, a member of the Turkish retailer BIM, has completed a modernization at its Sakarya, Turkey diaper manufacturing plant. By modernizing a diaper fastening tape system with an Andritz retrofit, the company has improved the production process of the converting line and the quality of the diapers produced on it.
The modernization of the diaper fastening tape system ensures a strong, reliable bond on the diaper closure and facilitates the converting process. The improvement in raw material tension results in reduced downtime, increased productivity and significant cost savings. Raw material costs are also drastically reduced compared to conventional side tape solutions.
Sedat Mala, General Manager of Turkuvaz, said: “ANDRITZ completed this major retrofit in a remarkably short time of just two weeks, demonstrating its ability to deliver fast and impactful solutions," says Sedat Mala, general manager, Turkuvaz.
Turkuvaz already operates nine converting lines and one spunlace line supplied by from ANDRITZ.
BIM operates 11,000 stores across Türkiye.
