According to local officials, the incentive would result in over $70 million over a 40-year period. K-C has not announced any firm plans to expand in Beech Island, which is reportedly one of the company's largest operating facilities, employing more than 2000 workers. The facility currently manufactures products including Huggies diapers, Pull-Ups and GoodNites training pants, Kleenex facial tissue, Cottonelle and Scott bath tissue, Scott and Viva towels and Cottonelle and Scott flushable wipes. It was established in 1968.
Meanwhile, cotton-based diaper brand Kudos is expanding its reach in Target stores, according to a report in Modern Retail. The diapers initially rolled out to 375 Target locations in August 2024, and the brand said it will double this number next month. Additionally, the company is adding a second manufacturing line to handle demand from the Minneapolis, MN-based retailer.
