China Nonwovens and Industrial Textiles Association (CNITA), has officially launched a new standard for moist toilet tissue. The standard clearly stipulates raw materials, classification, labeling, technical requirements, quality indicators, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, transportation and storage of moist toilet tissue. Based on the flushability requirement, moist toilet tissue products are classified into two categories: flushable and non-flushable. Flushable moist toilet tissues can be labeled on the package with words or pictures to indicate its flushability while non-flushable moist toilet tissues should be clearly labeled as “not to be thrown into the toilet” in a conspicuous place on the package.
“The release of the standard marks a new stage in the development of China's moist toilet tissues industry. The standard will encourage the manufacturers to increase R&D investment and improve product quality, will guide the industry towards standardization and will improve consumers’ confidence and satisfaction in moist toilet tissues. The implementation of the standard will promote the further development of flushable and degradable nonwoven materials in China. It is believed that consumers will enjoy a healthier, safer, more convenient, more comfortable and environmentally friendly experience as a result of this standard,” says President of CNITA, Li Guimei.
The standards were released during CINTE at a press conference co-organized by Henan Yixiang Hygiene Technology Co. (Deeyeo).
