Naturopera, the maker of Tidoo, Carryboo, Libellys baby diapers as well as the Tadam feminine care brand, has acquired Eugene Permas’ retail business, a French perfumist. The acquisiton is part of the company’s plan to become an independent French leader in hygiene and perfumery.
The transaction allows the newly created entity to broaden its expertise and generate significant synergies which include offering consumers and retailers an alternative to multinationals, by offering healthy, natural French products at affordable prices
This new stage in the development of the Naturopera Group, which is becoming a young mid-sized company, is in line with its commitment to safeguarding French industrial heritage, developing Made in France brands and preserving jobs.

In May, Naturopera announced it would add a new converting line for manufacturing sustainable baby diapers at its new plant in Bully Les Mines, France. The eXcelle line was supplied by Andritz Diatec and features special technology to produce both traditional and bio-based baby diapers, supporting Naturopera in its efforts to become a leading producer of a new generation of sustainable diapers.
While most diapers available on the market consist of 70% fossil-based plastic, Naturopera is preparing to produce diapers made of 90% bio-based raw materials. This groundbreaking diaper concept was developed in a close collaboration between Naturopera and Andritz. It replaces the traditional spunbond and meltblown nonwoven layers with spunlace nonwovens mostly made of natural fibers. A prototype of the 90% bio-based diaper was previously produced at Bully Les Mines.
Naturopea was founded in 2013 by Geoffroy Blondel de Joigny and Kilian O'Neil, The company reportedly has 100 employees and garners €40 million ins annual sales. The company obtained the double CSR SME and Bio Sustainable Business certification. It was selected in the ETIncelles program of the Ministry of SMEs to upgrade to mid-sized enterprise (ETI) status.
