Net sales increased 10% at Daio Paper Corporation, to reach ¥166 billion during the quarter ended June 30, 2023. Profit increased ¥2.8 billion, representing 1.7% of sales. Home and Personal Care segment sales continued to climb, reaching ¥68.5 billion. Gains were recorded in adult care, feminine hygiene and wet wipes thanks to value added product introductions, while the baby care segment decreased due to declining birth rates.
By region, sales grew in all four main regions—East Asia, Central and South America, Southeast Asia and MENA. In China, baby diaper sales decreased while fem care increased. Central and South America benefited from value added products. In Southeast Asia, baby diaper sales decreased while fem care products increased in Thailand. Within the MENA region, price revisions were conducted for the entire product line.
