Genial Day, a female-owned Lithuianian women's healthcare company has donated more than 9000 menstrual care products to the Lithuanian Red Cross to help aid recently arrived Ukrainian refugees. Already over a million people have left their homeland to seek shelter in various European countries, and basic supplies like water, food, medicine as well as hygiene products are needed the most.
“We fully support Ukraine during Russia’s unjustified attack, and therefore want to contribute as much as we can,” says Vilmante Markeviciene, founder of Genial Day. “Ukrainians still in the country and people who fled the war zone need housing, clothing, footwear, and, of course, hygiene products. Periods do not stop even in such dire circumstances, therefore, we wanted to make sure that Ukrainian women and girl refugees have all the support they can get.”
Genial Day sells feminine hygiene products under the brand name Gengle Day in Europe. It is focused on conscious intimate hygiene products.
The British Red Cross currently prioritizes refugee access to water, health care, and psychological support. Other organizations such as Unicef, UN Refugee Agency, Malteser International or Save the Children International are also accepting volunteer help, financial support, and donations of clothing, food, and essential supplies.
