JX Nippon ANCI, Inc. headquartered in Kennesaw, GA, with manufacturing in Roanoke, AL, and composite manufacturing in Dalton, GA, have developed a unique product that has capabilities in applications which use membrane, film or fabric. This product branded HPE is composed of polyethylene and polyester and is processed by ANCI’s proprietary process.
HPE has exceptionally high tensile properties, breathability, low surface friction, and microbial resistance. The polymer is hydrophobic, biologically inert, non-biodegradable, and low friction characteristics. HPE can be sterilized by ethylene oxide, electron beam, gamma, or steam. For packaging applications, HPE is puncture resistant with very low linting with its continuous filaments.
HPE will thermally bond to itself, paper and spunbonds of polyester, polypropylene, and nylon; offering many possibilities for composites. The manufacturing process for HPE can be varied to produce products with a range of porosities and is available in weights from 20 gsm to 100 gsm and widths up to 88 inches.
HPE can be used in liquid filtration applications, and when combined with a support material can be pleated and be used in dust collection systems which are pulse cleaned.
