In April–June 2020, Suominen’s net sales increased by 18% from the comparison period to €122.2 million ($143.7 million). The impact of currencies on net sales was €-0.4 million ($-0.47 million).
Suominen’s business areas are Americas and Europe. The net sales of the Americas business area were €77.2 million ($90.8 million) and of the Europe business area €45 million ($52.9 million).
Petri Helsky, president & CEO, comments: “Suominen achieved record high quarterly net sales and operating profit in the second quarter of 2020. Our net sales increased by 18% and amounted to €122.2 million (103.8). Sales volumes increased considerably but sales prices decreased following lower raw material prices. The main driver for the volume increase was higher demand of wipes due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We were able to respond to the increased demand by running our production efficiently despite the challenges caused by the pandemic.”
