German film manufacturer RKW is investing $18.8 Million into its production site in Franklin, KY. The investment will allow the site to expand its offerings of the company's innovative portfolio in North America while creating 30 new full-time jobs.
“Not only will this investment allow RKW North America to tap into new markets,” says Kenneth Budlong, general manager of RKW North America. “It will also create new job opportunities and therefore strengthen the economy of the Franklin area.” The RKW group’s expansion plans for North America include the construction of a new 30,000-square-foot manufacturing and warehouse facility and investments in new, state-of-the-art equipment. RKW North America is also set to invest in comprehensive training for new employees. Currently, RKW North America employs about 100 people.
RKW's latest investment was in 2012 when it added new capacity for the production of films for absorbent hygiene products.
