The Old Hickory site was recommended for the certification after completing a rigorous two-day audit against the ISO standard “22716 Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Certification Standard for Cosmetic Products”in May 2017. The GMP are guidelines uniquely accredited by the American National Standard Institute (ANSI) developed in accordance with applicable sections of the FDA’s code of federal regulations. These guidelines provide a system of processes, procedures and documentation to assure a product has the identity, strength, composition, quality and purity that appear on the product label. Being awarded the ISO commendation certifies that Sontara exceeds best practice standards for manufacturing, quality control, shipping and warehousing of our fabrics.
In receiving these certifications, the company says it aims to demonstrate its commitment to public safety and to the purity of the beauty care products it manufactures.
