Several nonwoves producers were recently honored with Procter & Gamble's suppliers awards. Fibertex Personal Care and Pegas Nonwovens were among the 12 companies that received the honor of received an External Business Partner Excellence Award. Meanwhile, Gulsan received an excellence award for consistent high performance.
Speaking at the event honoring those recognized as Partner of the Year, David Taylor, P&G’s Chairman of the Board, President and CEO asked P&G’s external business partners to continue to strive for the best collaborative relationship with P&G, saying: “We’re focused on getting back to balanced growth. Our supplier partners have a key role to play in our ability to deliver top-line, bottom-line and cash. The more integrated and connected P&G and our supplier partners are, the better able we are to be more innovative and productive in meeting consumers’ needs and, as a result, deliver balanced and sustainable growth and value creation for our shareholders.”
Other suppliers to P&G absorbents and nonwovens-related businesses included hygiene machinery manufacturer Fameccanica, who received the exteral business award and Kelheim Fibers and Nordson, who received excellence awards for consistent high performance.
Part of our supply chain transformation has been altering the way we work with our external business partners, and I’m proud of the steps we’ve taken to co-locate and really become one integrated eco-system in supply chain management,” says Stew Atkinson, chief purchasing officer. "We are at the beginning of this journey, but what we’ve achieved to date makes me excited for the possibilities of what we can accomplish together."
