Italian topsheet producer Pantex International is establishing a business relationship with Japanese fiber and nonwovens producer Chisso Corp. to produce and sell unique perforated nonwovens. This innovative product was introduced at ANEX 2006 where Chisso hosted Pantex CEO James Cree as well as sales managers and research and development personnel at its booth.
The new nonwoven material combines the perforated nonwovens expertise of Pantex and ES Fiber, a Chinese subisidiary of Chisso, as well as nonwovens technology from Chisso in Japan. Pantex will install a new production line making the perforated nonwovens in Gangzhou, China while Chisso will contribute its fiber and nonwovens know-how and bicomponent spunbond material.
The new operation will start production in six to 10 months making 800 to 1600 tons of topsheet material per year.
