IMA, the parent company of Teknoweb Converting, has reached an agreement with the Extraordinary Commissioner for the Covid-19 Emergency to develop and supply 25 machines for the packaging of disposable surgical masks for delivery expected in the June-August period of this year.
As the COVID-19 pandemic developed, the IMA Group recognized a need for rapid delivery of machines to produce high volumes of surgical style masks. The group put together a team that assessed the processes required by such a machine and determined where those processes were available within IMA. Teknoweb Converting then coordinated design and technology development of the mask production machine. This effort has result in a machine available with short lead times, at reasonable investment, and able to produce a high volume of top quality masks.
“This is an important technical development, which confirms once again, the great industrial and engineering flexibility that characterizes our group and, more generally, Italian manufacturers of automatic machines,” says chairman Alberto Vacchi. “In this moment of huge general uncertainty, I believe that this result is one of the many starting points to face the next stages of the epidemic with optimism and, we hope, a return to normality.::
