The Leonardo 1.0 pilot line from Ramina Srl is running continously seven days a week producing high quality meltblown fabric in weights of 22 and 25 gsm for facial masks. The line is producing 2300 kg per day of materials 1.8 meters wide. The fabrics are being sold to leading face mask manufacturers and also being donated to the local community where Mayor Luciano Gavin of Grantorto, Italy has organized a free seamstresses network to produce handmade face masks for free distribution.
Spunbond supplier Texbond, based in Rovereto, is assisting in this effort.
Ramina started up its new Leonardo 1.0 line featuring spunbond, meltblown and composite technology in December. This new technology was introduced by Ramina’s R&D department striving to develop the most advanced and innovative technology to get the finest denier product, optimizing energy consumption, reduced manpower for line conduction and the minimum maintenance operations with a very cost-effective line.
