Company focuses on implementation of eco-friendly policies and initiatives

U.K.-based fabric tech company Nonwovenn has continued its mission to set a new industry benchmark for sustainability by placing a key focus on the continued implementation of eco-friendly policies and initiatives.
During the first quarter of 2026, Nonwovenn attained the highest CDP climate change score an SME can achieve. Alongside this, while the business was already reported on Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Scope 1 and 2 emissions, it has recently also started to report on GHG Scope 3 for several emissions categories. The implementation of Scope 3 reporting again places the business ahead of the curve in the nonwovens industry, as many are not yet undertaking calculations.
For a third year running Nonwovenn reported that it has sent zero waste to landfill, continuing to convert it into ‘Refuse Derived Fuel’ through a service partner. By recycling waste in this way, the business is able to avoid 350 tonnes of CO2 emissions that would otherwise have been emitted from landfill.
The business was previously awarded the coveted EcoVadis Gold Medal for its outstanding sustainability performance. The accolade places Nonwovenn in the top five per cent of all global companies and is assessed by incredibly vigorous metrics.
Building on the achievements to date, Nonwovenn has also confirmed it now uses 100% green electricity, and 50% green gas, with an aim to increase this further in the coming years to 100% on both elements.
Commenting on Nonwovenn’s sustainability achievements and goals, Prabhat Mishra, sustainability director, says: “Sustainability remains at the heart of everything we do at Nonwovenn, and our business purpose remains ‘doing good to do well’. We have a key emphasis and focus on practical delivery and manufacturing credibility, prioritising deliverable improvements over aspirational statements.”
“We are always working to better our sustainability efforts, both internally for Nonwovenn and externally for our clients. We are progressing towards SBTi-comparible pathways and already support NHS net zero supplier expectations and transparency. The next six months are going to be incredibly exciting from a sustainability adds.”
David Lamb, Chairman of Nonwovenn, adds: “Since Prabhat joined the Nonwovenn team back in 2020, we have made some incredible strides and improvements to our sustainability practices. This is only the beginning of our journey, and Prabhat has some big goals for the next 12 months to ensure we remain at the forefront.”
