Voith president and CEO Andreas Endters has informed the shareholders and group management of his decision to leave Voith at the end of the current fiscal year. This request has been accepted.
Effective October 1, 2026, Tero Kokko will join the corporate board of management of Voith, and, as President & CEO of Voith Paper, will assume responsibility for the group division.
During Endters’ more than three decades with Voith, he has significantly shaped the business through a variety of international leadership roles. He played a key role in developing Voith Paper into one of the world’s leading technology partners for the paper industry.
“Over the past 35 years, Voith has been much more than an employer to me, however, the time has come to hand over responsibility and begin a new chapter. This was a thoughtful and deliberate decision. I am confident that Voith Paper, with its technological expertise, talented employees and strong culture of innovation, is well positioned for continued success,” says Endters. “I would also like to sincerely thank my colleagues for their trust, collaboration and all that we have achieved together. I wish Tero Kokko every success in this new role.”
Kokko currently leads the global pulp business area at the Finnish technology company Valmet. He brings more than 20 years of international leadership experience in strategy, transformation and business development. Kokko holds a doctorate in Automation and Control Engineering from Tampere University of Technology.
“The paper industry is undergoing significant change worldwide. I look forward to working with this talented team to help shape the future of the business, support our customers and build on the strong foundation that Voith Paper has established,” said Tero Kokko, designated President & CEO Voith Paper.
Siegfried Russwurm, Chairman of the Shareholders’ Committee and Supervisory Board of Voith, said: “Andreas Endters has made a lasting impact on Voith. He combines deep industry expertise with strategic vision and a leadership style that inspires and engages people. Through his commitment, integrity and steady leadership, he has successfully advanced the company and guided the business through challenging times. We are deeply grateful for his contributions and service. At the same time, we are pleased to have identified an outstanding successor early and exceptionally well. Tero Kokko’s capabilities and international market and customer experience will be invaluable as Voith continues to evolve.”
Dirk Hoke, President & CEO of the Voith Group added, “Voith Paper has a strong technological foundation and significant opportunities ahead. Our goal is to align the business even more closely with the needs of our customers and markets while positioning it for long-term success. I look forward to working closely with Tero as we pursue this path together. I would also like to thank Andreas for his exceptional commitment and leadership over many years. His experience, dedication and character have left a lasting mark on the company. We wish him all the very best in the future.”
The paper industry continues to face significant economic pressure worldwide while undergoing rapid technological and structural transformation. Voith is responding to these changes through the ongoing development of its portfolio, a clear focus on customer needs, innovation and competitiveness, as well as targeted investments in future technologies.
