The Next Move offers high performance and circularity
Woosh has introduced the Next Move, its new generation of baby diapers. Featuring DreamShields 360° leak barriers at the front, back and sides as well as the company’s patented SeconDRY technology that absorbs up to twice as fast as other diapers and a zone optimized for boys and girls, the diapers offer up to 12 hours of protection, day and night.
“We’re a diaper brand with a lot of technology behind it,” says Jeff Stubbe, CEO. “And technology evolves. Babies don’t move any differently than they did five years ago, but our understanding of how to respond to that has grown enormously. Every bit of feedback from parents and carers, every review, every conversation with a childcare professional, it all feeds into how we develop our product and our company.”
Like all Woosh diapers, the Next Move products are engineered to come back. Every Woosh diaper that is returned, whether through collection or drop off points, are included in the company’s circular system. After collection, the materials are separated so the plastics can be recycled into raw material for new products.
Last month, Woosh announced that, in partnership polyolefin supplier Borough International and BlueAlp, a chemical recycling specialist, it had proven that plastics from used baby diapers can be recovered and chemically recycled into feedstock for new polymers for applications including those suitable for new diaper production. The development marks the first time this circular loop has been demonstrated at industrial scale in Europe, according to the companies.
The new Woosh diapers utilize recycled plastic both in the packaging and in the waterproof layer inside the diaper. Additionally, they are produced with 100% green energy. EU Ecolabel and FSC certified cellulose.
Woosh was started in 2021 in Ghent, Belgium with one mission, creating a world without diaper waste. Today, Woosh delivers and collects diapers for more than 30,000 children across Belgium. More than 1500 daycare centers rely on Woosh every day.
While sustainability remains crucial to Woosh’s mission, Stubbe says that performance remains key to getting parents to trust a diaper brand.
