The seventh Cinte Techtextil China exhibition was held September 19-21 at INTEX in Shanghai. According to organizers, the event features a strong flow of visitor traffic, an array of new products and an enthusiastic business mood flet by exhibitors and visitors. The event featured 320 exhibiting companies covering 12,000 square meters of space, making the show 20% larger than the previous event.
International exhibitors showcased high performance glass fibers and yarns, aramid, nomex and nylon fabrics, carbon fiber material, woven textile manmade fabrics, membranes, industrial filtration systems and protective clothing. Products also included machines and technology for the production of nonwoven felts, fiber blending, spinning as well as specialized machines for sealing and bonding and ultrasonic textile cutting.
The majority of products displayed by the mainland Chinese exhibitors were nonwovens, including health and hygiene products, wipes, filtration for liquid, oil and gas, textile for protective wears, medical clothing, interlinings, insulation material and coated fabrics.
More than 34% of the trade visitors were from import and export corporations, close to 27% were end users, 15% were wholesalers/distributors and 9% were from the academic/research and development field.
“CINTE Techtextil China is seen in Europe and particularly in Germany as a show not to miss if one is serious about promoting technical textiles in China,” said Claudia Saam of the Confederation of the German Textile and Fashion Industry, organizer of the German pavilion. “The German companies present here were particularly impressed with the overall level of professionalism of the show.”
‘Make new contacts’ and ‘promote company and products’ were the two main reasons stated by the exhibitors when asked why they chose to participate at CINTE Techtextil China. “We came to the show to present our award winning programmable welding machines and we are extremely happy with the response,” said Stephan Kehry, vice manager for Pfaff, the German machinery supplier. “Our booth was always full of people wanting to know more about our machines and their multiple applications. It seems that the Chinese market is now ready for our type of state-of-the-art products and CINTE Techtextil China is the only place in Asia to appropriately showcase our know-how.”
“We are here to introduce our new company,” said Bernd Can of S-Line, a Swiss coating and laminating machine manufacturer. “There is absolutely no doubt that the Chinese market has a huge potential and this can be verified by the questions visitors to booth are asking. We have already received orders. An added bonus!”
Echoing these comments was Cheng Chao-chuan of Everest Textile, a Taiwanese company: “It is the first time that we exhibit at Cinte Techtextil China and we are very impressed by the show. Visitors to our booth were in the majority very professional. They all knew very well what they were looking for. We will definitely participate at Cinte Techtextil China again”
Chinese exhibitors saw the show as an excellent opportunity to increase domestic and export sales. “We came to CINTE Techtextil China to meet some of our existing clients as well as to make contacts with new customers,” said Wu Hong-gong of Tianjin Teda Filters, one of China’s key players in the industry. “The show is very important for us to further develop our business. We met a lot of overseas buyers and we found the proportion of international buyers here is higher than in the other trade shows. A great opportunity to develop our overseas markets.”
“CINTE Techtextil China is a ‘must-participate’ event for suppliers of technical textile and nonwovens,” said Mr Yang Ji-hong of Eastex Industrial Science & Technology, one of the Chinese exhibitors. “We have been here since the beginning and we have never regretted our decision. We are here to build our brand image, meet existing clients and make new contacts. The fair is also a good platform for us to learn about the latest developments.”
A few exhibitors commented on the high proportion of foreign buyers present, creating further opportunities for export business and adding a strong international flavor to the fair.
“We came to the show to find Chinese agents but we’ve also met buyers from Korea, Japan and even Eastern Europe,” said Kris Messely from Vetex, a supplier of coated and laminated fabrics from Belgium. “We are very happy with the results of the show and I believe we can develop some valuable business relationships.”
The show organizers were delighted with the results at the fair. "There is a very high energy level here, and a lot of enthusiasm for this event," said Michael Jänecke, director of Techtextil Fairs worldwide for Messe Frankfurt. “The show is gaining momentum. We look forward to the future of Cinte Techtextil China with great optimism!”
