YanJan Nonwovens was established as a maker of topsheet materials, acquisition and distribution layers and fastening materials for baby care applications and wipes in 1995. Since then, it has grown to a worldwide company with 10 sites in five countries and more than 1200 employees. It established sites in Suez, Egypt, in 2017, Charlotte, NC, in 2018, Mandideep, India, in 2019 and Sao Paolo, Brazil, in 2022. Additionally, YanJan plans to establish a European operation in Budapest, Hungary. However, the timing of this investment has not yet been announced.
For now, YanJan is focusing on investment in its existing facilities. In Egypt, where it has been making film materials since 2017, the company added three carded lines in 2023, two in 2024 and it has already announced it will add two more next year as well as another line in 2026. In North America, at a site established in June 2018, YanJan has a two-phase investment plan that will ultimately expand the site to 100,000 square feet.
In 2022, the U.S. operation partnered with Avgol Nonwovens to make apertured spunbond nonwovens. Under the terms of the deal, YanJan obtains the base spunbond materials from Avgol. The partners will each develop and manufacture products tailored to each company’s skill set and to meet customer needs.
While sales have decreased slightly since peaking at approximately $225 million in 2020, they have remained steady at $200 million post-pandemic.
