An absorbent article comprising: a backsheet; a core comprising less than 1% by weight cellulosic fibers; a wetness indicator composition comprising a stabilizer, a colorant, and a matrix; and wherein a wetness indicator sample comprises phosphate, and, according to the Wetness Indicator Sample Test (Phosphate), has a phosphate content of 10% or less.
