Softness in geotextile demand caused by weather patterns and lower military spending has led Propex to adjust the production schedule at its facilities in Ringgold and Nashville, GA.
"The positive transformation of our company is progressing nicely and we have many accomplishments to be proud of in 2012," says Mike Gorey, president and CEO of the needlepunch nonwovens producer. "That said, geotextile demand is soft due to lower precipitation levels, fewer abnormal weather events and reductions in military and government spending. As part of our strategic growth initiative, balancing production levels with marketplace demand will help to establish discipline in the geotextile and infrastructure markets that we serve."
Propex has recently relocated its corporate headquarters to Chattanooga, TN.
