Net sales increased by 1% to reach €19 million at Swedish hygiene company SCA. Operating profit increased 4%. These results do not include the company’s packaging operation, which is in the process of being divested.
According to CEO Jan Johannsen, the hygiene operations continue to perform well, with continued growth, higher marketshare and significantly improved earnings compared to the prior year.
During the quarter, SCA announced two acquisitions that will strengthen the company’s position in the important hygiene products market in Asia. These include Taiwan-based hygiene company Everbeauty and the Chinese company Vinda, the third-largest player in China’s tissue market.
