A multi-layer absorbent article has been patented. The article comprises a first stretchable layer; a second layer; wherein the article is elastic in a longitudinal direction of the article such that a loading force of 400 grams extends a sample of said article taken along the longitudinal centerline of the article between about 7-14% of the sample's original length and the recovery of said sample after said loading force is removed is 100%.

The article has a MCB of less than about 25 grams, a thickness of less than about 1 mm; and an absorbent capacity of less than about 2 grams.
