“End-uses of disposable wiping cloth products are more sophisticated and demanding today,” said Laura Brooks, director of marketing/Nonwovens.IFC continually recognizes the evolution of changing markets by providing comprehensive, diverse product lines for all market applications.”
As IFC evolved from cloth rags to converting its own full line of wiper products in the 1980s, the company became well known as a premier wiper source. Many acquisitions throughout the early 1980s allowed IFC in 1985 to begin a multimillion dollar expansion to consolidate its manufacturing in Jackson, TN. Over the next several years, IFC changed its sales focus to encompass direct sales to a distribution base. It also expanded its markets to include automotive, janitorial and food service.
In early 1990, IFC was acquired by Hosposable Products Inc., Somerville, NJ, as part of its strategic growth plan and to create an in-house user of its airlaid material. In 1991, Hosposable Products and IFC were acquired by Wyant Corporation (Wood-Wyant Inc.), Lachine, Quebec. In November 2000, IFC became part of Cascades Tissue Group, Candiac, Quebec, as part of Cascades’ acquisition of Wood-Wyant.IFC became a fully integrated division of Cascades in 2005.
