More than 1450 companies from 38 countries are scheduled to exhibit at ITMA, International Exhibition of Textile Machinery, scheduled for September 13-20, 2007 in Munich, Germany. This is a noticeable increase compared to the last ITMA exhibition, which featured 1279 exhibiting companies, in Birmingham, U.K.
Currently, 369 exhibitors come from Italy; 328 are from Germany; 108 come from India; 99 are from Turkey; 70 are Swiss; 56 are from China; 55 are from the U.K.; 42 are from France; 40 come from Sprain and 39 are Taiwanese.
Organizers expect the event to attract at least 100,000 visitors. In 2003, around 125,500 visitors from 127 countries visited ITMA 2003 in Birmingham. The top 10 visitor countries in 2003 were: the U.K., Turkey, Germany, Italy, Pakistan, India, France, Belgium, Spain and the U.S.
According to organizers, the area for machinery and accessories for the production of nonwovens has become significantly more important than at the last ITMA. The 64 exhibitors of machines and accessories for nonwovens production will occupy an area in two halls that is 50% larger than in Birmingham in 2003. For technical textiles, there will be machines, accessories and technologies in all trade fair halls ranging from fiber manufacturing to fabric production.
