    Company Cameo

    Americo Expands In Airlaid

Americo was founded in Atlanta, GA in 1969. The company, formerly known as American Manufacturing Company, changed its name to Americo shortly after the move to its current facility in Acworth, GA in 1981.

Along with their approximately 200,000 square foot manufacturing and corporate headquarters in Acworth, Americo operates a manufacturing facility in Cartersville, GA and a warehouse and distribution center in Los Angeles, CA.

Americo manufactures a complete line of nonwoven abrasive material for retail and commercial distribution. These products have a variety of applications with the largest portion going into industrial floor maintenance pads and hand pads, sold through the janitorial distribution network. The company also manufactures a line of specialty filtration media and a series of geotextile products used mainly for erosion control.

Americo uses an airlaid highloft random web process with spray and thermal bonding technology in its manufacturing process. This allows the production of highloft webs using coarse 15- to 500-denier polyester, nylon and natural fibers. The company’s capabilities include the production of webs from 6 mm to 50 mm thick with weights ranging from 10 ounces per square yard to more than 50 ounces per square yard.

Americo recently installed a new, state-of-the-art, airlaid random web production line with spray and thermal bonding technology. According to the company, this new line ensures the most consistent and highest quality products in the marketplace
Americo ships products to all 50 states as well as more than 50 countries worldwide. The growth in international sales has had a positive impact on Americo’s business and this segment has been one of steady expansion.

According to Americo’s president, Richard Rones, “Our company has experienced unprecedented growth over the last several years and we look forward to surpassing our customers’ expectations with new and exciting products in the future.” Mr. Rones said that the company’s goal is to promote growth in its core business segments of janitorial cleaning products, geotextiles and specialty filtration markets. In addition the company will be looking for niche markets that utilize its coarse denier, highloft manufacturing capabilities.

Meeting and exceeding customer needs with high quality products and exceptional service has always been a guiding principle at Americo.By expanding production capabilities, Americo is able to focus on satisfying customer demand while gaining significant competitive advantages. “Surpassing our customer’s expectations is what we’re all about at Americo. Our recent expansion will assure our customers of the same fast, efficient service that they’ve come to expect from Americo,” said Mr. Rones.
