Rayonier has added a new member to its board of directors. Lee Thomas, the former president and chief operating officer of Georgia-Pacific, joined the board of Rayonier in June. Mr. Thomas was president of Georgia-Pacific from 2002 until his retirement at the end of 2005. He also served as administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency from 1985-89. Rayonier CEO Lee Nutter said the company will benefit from Thomas’ experience. “The insights he gained from running one of the world’s largest forest products companies with $20 billion in sales, coupled with his distinguished service in the public sector, make Mr. Thomas a valuable addition to our board,” said Mr. Nutter.
