Buckeye Boosts Board Membership

Virginia Wetherell has been elected to serve on the board of directors at Buckeye Technologies, Memphis, TN. Ms. Wetherell is president of Wetherell Consulting Inc., a Tallahassee, FL-based consulting and lobbying firm. Ms. Wetherell also has served as secretary of the Department of En­vironmental Protection in Florida. Previously she had served in the Florida House of Representatives. The election of Ms. Wetherell increases the size of the Buckeye Board of Directors from nine members to ten and increases the number of independent directors from five to six.

“We are pleased that Ms. Wetherell has agreed to join the Buckeye board of directors,” said Buckeye chairman David Ferraro. “She brings a wealth of experience in both industry and governmental matters, and we feel she will be a valuable contributor to our company’s future success.”
