Sheeter

May 17, 2006

Maxson Automatic Machinery Company has developed a sheeter that allows vinyl extruders to realize maximum line speed potential when producing sheets in line. Using a dual knife rotary cutter technology, rather than a drop shear design, the sheeter can convert a web up to 0.120 inches (3.0mm) thick into precise, square sheets at speeds up to 300 fpm (90 mpm). The cutter is outfitted with a unique design that allows the operator to adjust the knife clash while in operation to insure a clean, hairless crosscut. An extended grid system at the stacker allows the sheeter to continuously run while a skid is being removed, thus avoiding line stoppages during pile changes.
