Elastic Nonwoven

October 3, 2005

BASF's new technology—Ellastollan thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPU)—is designed to benefit today's elastic nonwovens market where achieving the right elasticity often involves mechanical manipulation (i.e. the insertion of elastic bands or tapes into a structure). Ellastollan TPUs eliminate this step by offering manufacturers: higher elasticity and strength, better recovery, high chemical resistance, improved sealing, efficient filter and higher comfort and grip. The product may be used in applications including hygienic, medical, filtration and apparel.
